Recently the U.S. Supreme court made decisions that equate “gender identity” with “sex (gender)” in civil rights law. This is not only unbiblical, but unscientific. Our DNA governs our gender – whether we are male or female – with XY or XX chromosomes. This is a biological, scientific fact. In contrast, “gender identity” is governed not by a person’s DNA but by their subjective, changeable feelings.
God created each of us with physical characteristics such as coloring, features, and gender. Rejecting that is rejecting God’s choice when He created us. I am amazed at what David states in Psalm 139:16, even though he knew nothing about DNA, the book of information that God has placed in our bodies to direct our physical development: “In thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (KJV) Let’s embrace and be thankful for the marvelous person God has made us and encourage others to do the same!
